Dogs can bring us comfort and peace.

Sunshine Therapy Dogs is a Canadian Registered Charity that provides visits from loving, qualified dogs, and their volunteer owners to students, seniors, and employees who may be suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, or loneliness. We have a diverse group of qualified volunteer/dog teams who have completed over 1,200 visits since we started in 2021.

We are currently looking to expand our services to Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, and Hamilton to the west and Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Oshawa to the east.

We urgently need volunteers with loving dogs!

Emotional well-being of children and young adults:

Physical contact with a dog can alleviate social isolation, depression and anxiety in young adults.

Social support and emotional well-being for the elderly:

The presence of dogs helps reduce depression and loneliness among the elderly.

Benefits in the workplace:

Employees that work in dog-friendly workplaces have reduced stress levels compared to employees in non-dog friendly workplaces.
